Relay Information

Welcome to the new 2014 Stampede Run & Walk Relay (previously known as the Timaru Round the Gorges Relay and last year as the Timaru Road Relay)

Runners - Teams of 5 each doing the 7.4km lap

The Lap starts on the track heads across to the west side of Mountainview Road, up Wai-iti Road, up Gleniti Road, down Pages Road, into Mountainview Road, then back onto the all-weather track
All the runners and walkers doing the next lap will start together (in a bunch - so hopefully you should get to run with more people), as the first runner from the previous lap enters the track
All the individual times for the team members will be added together to get a final team time to determine the finish position
The teams will be split into grades based on their total estimated time for the entire relay. Please supply estimated 10km times for each runner so we can put you into the most appropriate grade. All grades will start together and are only used for the results

Walkers - Teams of 4 each doing 5.0km

The Lap starts on the track heads across to the west side of Mountainview Road, north up Mountainview Road, up Pages Road to a turn-around point (just below Gleniti Golf Course), back down Pages Road, into Mountainview Road, then back onto the all-weather track
All the walkers doing the next lap will start together (with the runners), as the first runner from the previous lap enters the track
All the individual times for the team members will be added together to get a final team time to determine the finish position
Depending on entries, the teams of walkers will be split into grades based on their age and total estimated time for the entire relay. Please supply estimated 10km or 5km times for each walker so we can put you into the most appropriate grade. All grades will start together and are only used for the results

RECREATIONAL RUNNERS - Corporates, clubs, schools, fun runners and walkers etc are all welcome to enter teams
